What to consider when choosing your flower girl

One of the cutest moments of a wedding service is the flower girl and ring bearer walking down the aisle. Some brides have a single flower girl or multiple. If you are planning on having a flower girl or girls, here are a few things you should keep in mind when making your choice.

  • Age

Girls aged 5-8 are typically the best age for this important job. They are old enough to understand their responsibilities and still young enough to get excited about it. Younger flower girls are adorable, but they are less likely to understand what’s going on and will likely bore or tire easily.

  • Personality

A lot of kids are shy and may not be comfortable with being one of the points of attention of the wedding ceremony. You should consider the personality of the person you are considering and if they have the confidence to handle the role.

  • Family Politics

If you have multiple younger cousins or nieces and you don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, then you might want to consider having more than one flower girl.
